The Beat magazine was the
first free entertainment magazine in Bali and Indonesia,
first publishing at the beginning of 2000. The Beat
is distributed every two weeks throughout Bali free
of charge and for sale in Jakarta, Bandung and Yogyakarta.
The Beat focuses on entertainment, music, food, lifestyle,
art, fashion and shopping, sports and leisure and
anything of interest happening in Bali in the two
week period. The magazine’s also features the
What’s On section, detailing all the upcoming
events, and a complete listings section of all the
best bars, clubs, restaurants and shops in town. The
Jakarta section was born in late 2000 and continues
till today in the rear part of the magazine. There’s
also a Japanese section that details events of interest
to the Japanese community.
