The Lovers’ Grill "CINTA" |

When you learn that the couple behind Cinta Grill is the very same one that set up that much lauded haven of classical Indonesian and regional fare, Batan Waru, you’re expectations are immediately raised. Situated at the upper end of the Monkey Forest road, Ubud, Cinta Grill is a romantically lit Wantilan style space (traditional pavilion) beside an open courtyard, with a red grill standing conspicuously at the back. Thematically, the food is not dissimilar to sister restaurants Batan Waru and Terazo, sitting as manager Rick puts it “somewhere between the two.” There is an obvious emphasis on grilled items including Texas Pork Ribs (68) and a novel Gorgonzola-Stuffed Burger (59) but you’ll also find Asian favourites like Thai Green Curry (36/48) or North Indian Chole, stir fries, pastas and sandwiches including a delicious Poached Chicken Panino (26). Ubud may well fall in love with this one. |
