SURFER paradise is here

No, they haven’t moved the Gold Coast tribe to Bali (even though many reckon the waves here are just as exciting) the Surfer’s Paradise we’re referring to in the title is a huge surf shop strategically placed on the Ngurah Rai bypass between Kuta and Uluwatu. Catering to all your surfing needs between 9am and 10pm every day of the week, you’ll find the whole gamut of Billabong goodies (it’s also the Aussie surf labels headquarters here in Bali) from boardshorts to imported surfboard shaped by the likes of Rod Dhalberg and Al Merrick; surf accessories like wax, leashes, grips and then surfer fashion like distressed denim for your apres-surf downtime . Other surfing brands are also well represented including Volcom, Cult, Quiksilver, & Reef footwear. For those who prefer to surf the concrete, there are plenty of skate products including garments, decks and skate shoes from labels such as Element. And lets not forget the sunnies from brands like Oakley and Von Zipper to filter all those harmful ultraviolet rays and make you look cool to boot. You can hardly miss the place either, since there’s a big ‘ol surfing angel set brazenly outside the entrance. Billabong also know how to pamper their customers, scattering soft round lounges about the place. They even feature some celebrity autographs including Mel Gibson’s. Great for a planned shopping trip, even better when you left your leash behind back in Seminyak and can’t be bothered heading back for it!
