  Padi Packs Kamasutra !

19 January and Kamasutra once again provided the perfect arena for one of Indonesia’s legendary rock music outfits to again prove their credentials. The critically acclaimed and hugely popular group, who hail from Surabaya, East Java, take their name Padi from the rice plant, which as it grows taller starts to bend over because fo the weight of the rice, a characteristic which has become a metaphor for being phlegmatic, or down to earth. It’s a quality that’s reflected in their solid rock and roll credentials in the local pop industry, and the respect they have garnered over the years. The Thursday night gig predictably drew a huge crowd, with fans arriving long before the band were scheduled to play.
