Known for his ability to jam some high pitch voice with help by his jazzy bands, we got a chance to catch him before the lunch and sound check at Hard Rock café….

Beat : so, how’s life?
Marcell : fine, still working on my second album right now, so far so good but I need an arranger that give the right vibe to my songs

Beat : so is it gonna sound like the previous album?
Marcell : yeah, but it’s more laid back, got more of a groove to it and a general ambience - still pretty chilled tho.

Beat : and how many singles are you planning to release and which is the killer track?
Marcell : well I hate that term, cos I don’t want to say one song is the killer as if the others are substandard. I pay full attention to each song,i want them all to be special

Beat : if you were going to collaborate with any indonesian singer from a different genre who would it be?
Marcell : it would have to be “Serieus” from Bandung, those guys are insane but they also have strong ideals, i don’t care what others think of me and i don’t bad mouth others either, so i respect their attitude

Beat : tell us bout your side project...
Marcell : oh, it’s a heavy metal band named “Kraken” who i play drums with. It’s hard stuff, the style of music is kind of Slayer, Panthera and Machine Head. Actually it’s a side project for all the band members, but we all put a lot of energy and commitment into it.

Beat : good to know that, so you think you guys would work on stage with a band like Seringai for example?
Marcell : yup! Fits right in
