Over the course of the last two years, Rumours restaurant in Jl Lesmana has established itself as one Seminyak’s essential spots. It’s aptly name too, partly because rumours of its great food and party atmosphere have spread so far so quickly, partly because it’s a fertile breeding ground for the latest gossip about what’s happening round town. Last Saturday 24 September saw the restaurant celebrating its 2nd anniversary in typically extravagant style, with a tall stage turning the entrance into a sort of gateway, specially commissioned prints of the senior staff adorning the walls, and a freeflow margarita bar erected in the corner. Regular Thursday night spinner Kent Kryptonate was joined by the beautiful DJ Supercozi (who gleefully proclaimed just before her set “I’m going to play some really really dirty electro-funk…” and then did) followed by Bali’s Party mainstay, DJ Georgia. A Funky Princess bikini fashion show took place early on, followed by a Slash wannabe playing live guitar over Martin Solveig’s House smash Everybody. Add to this stilt walking aliens pouring tequila down everyone’s throats and Go-Go dancers popping up everywhere and you have enough fodder to keep the rumour mill turning until next year’s birthday rolls around….
