The Bahasa they teach you in school is all good, but use it in the streets and you’re gonna come off like that kid who always got noogies at school. What you need is some street lingo. What you need is BAHASA GAUL! Otherwise known as prokem, bahasa gaul was derived from the language used by preman (lit. freeman) in Jakarta. Nowadays it’s spoken all over Jakarta and if you can get it down fluent, well then you can legitimately call yourself orang gaul - a cooool cat. Lesson One starts right here...
