shop : New Range at MOD

Over the last couple of years, MOD has became a pioneer and a benchmark for jewellery aimed at the surfing community. From small and simple rings to the unique fishhook pendants attached to silver chains or calf leather pieces, each piece is distinctive and effortlessly cool. On Saturday the 18th MOD launched their new range of jewellery introducing some different concepts. Check out their “Om Collection” based on the Hindu symbol known as Omkara, some new body piercing designs (they’ve got loads of tummy button rings), glow in the dark pieces (heading to Mbargo with that stuff you’ll look dope for sure) and their “Salad Collection,” teeny weeny colorful fruit hanging on bracelets or earrings. As Tiwi the PR girl explained “We are hoping to launch new products every 2 months, so this is just the beginning”. Keep your eyes peeled on The Beat for details of forthcoming collections. //gino++

SHELLBELLA'S

Girls with a penchant for surfing the waves, lying on the beach or splashing in the hotel pool, will need at least a couple of bikinis in their Bali backpacks.

‘Shellbella’s’ is an attractive swimwear boutique on the main road in Seminyak, specialising in a creative range of high quality, colour co-ordinated bikinis and swimsuits, bearing the Moontide label and fashioned by a New Zealand designer.

Featuring striking motifs and contrasting colours – such as cocoa, mint, coral and sand – the Lycra swimwear is available in a myriad of innovative styles. The colours of the halter top ‘paua’ bikini (Rp 1,150,000) reflect the rich blue and green patterns of the New Zealand paua shell. A reversible bikini with a hibiscus motif (Rp 1,035,000) looks great with a matching sarong. A halter swimsuit (Rp 845,000) features a sexy plunging neckline with buckle and eyelet detail. There is also a selection of ‘tankinis’ (two piece swimsuits comprised of tanktop and briefs). Much of the swimwear is manufactured in New Zealand and is complemented by locally made beach accessories such as sandals, bags, belts, and sarongs.

Shellbella’s is open every day from 9.30 am – 9 pm. Check out the current sale offering 30% off selected stock, and the bargain bin with everything at Rp 50,000
