>>Virgin Goes TV
Like it’s predecessor, “Ada Apa Dengan Cinta?” (“What Happened to Love?”), which originated as a big screen movie and then after skyrocketing, became a TV sinetron (Mini Series), “Virgin” is following the same course. “Virgin” was the story of 3 girls that did not believe in retaining their chastity, and in one part, even featured a not so vivid, but controversial scene of one of the girls losing her virginity to a “sugar daddy” in a shopping mall toilet! This blockbuster gained big exposure, and major controversy, after showing to an audience of 1.2 million people and is now slated to become a TV sinetron with hopes of gaining the same large audience. >>Hollywood...here I come!
Famously cute and lucky ex-Spice Girl and David Beckham spouse, Victoria Beckham, will debut her talent as an actress on the silver screen when she soon appears in the “Alan Partridge - The Movie.” She will be co-starring in the role of a celebrity performer who is interviewed by Alan Partridge (played by Steve Coogan), and in the end takes him into the limelight as a radio announcer. It remains to be seen how her acting has improved since the release of the ill-fated Spice Girls venture, “Spice World,” but perhaps she has regained enough celebrity and shaken the Spice Girls stigma to change her into a sexy superstar actress. We shall have to wait and see... //gino-G++
>>Beyonce Goes Solo
A couple of weeks following the announcement that Destiny’s Child were splitting up, Beyonce was making some obvious preparations to go solo. And go solo she did, blowing up to worldwide Rhythm and Pop fame in the past couple of years. But is she about to release another solo album soon? Unlikely, as she has ambiguously said herself, “I’m not sure if there is going to be another solo album soon or not.” That is not to say that she is taking a break. Far from it, with her involvement with hip-hop megastar, Jay-Z, and a few soundtrack credits to her name, including “The Pink Panther” remake and “Dreamgirl,” which includes herself in a supporting role along with Usher and Oscar-winner, Jamie Foxx. Whether the films do well or end up as “Glitter” Version 2.0, remains to be seen. Either way, she appears to be destined to remain in the limelight for at least a few more years. //gino-G++
