This surf DVD should be filed under the “short film,” not “movie” category siance the running time is under 30 minutes! Perhaps the producers can expand the film a little next time, especially since this film contains some of the local top dogs, including Hawaii’s Jamie O’Brien. Most of the footage is taken from surf breaks around Bali as well as some footage from Mentawai, Sumatra and some of the Rip Curl contests featured include “Grom Search” and the Rip Curl Cup filmed in Padang-Padang. The soundtrack is quite good with a mixture of DJ electronica and some Jack Johnson-style tracks, but even just a little more footage and some surfer interviews would have made this a more fulfilling and worth it.// gino-G++
