Glenn
Bringing Back The Love

The best word to describe Glenn Fredly’s gig down at Kama Sutra last Friday 17th would have to be...lovely! Things kicked off about 30 minutes late, causing a pile up at the door as some of the wilder ABG (teenage fans) started employing American Football tactics as they jostled at the entrance. Even me with my press id hanging arrogantly round my neck, like a medallion, felt powerless. But it was all worth it. The Ambonese crooner was on top form once again, this time backed up by a whole crew of talented musicians including a saxophonist who made me think of Kenny G. Not only that, but rapper/percussionist Rejos (The Groove) dropped a couple of rhymes over the track Bebas. Glenn belted out 15 songs, amongst them current hits like Jejak Langkah and his awesome arrangement of Bob Marley’s, Waiting In Vain. He rounded things off with the massive January which turned into a sing a long anthem before he disappeared from the stage. Only one complaint...where was the encore fellahs?? Have to talk to his label about that i guess...//gino++
