Pranoto Gallery is presenting a new group exhibition by four artists, Bambang Wiwoho, Kerry pendergrast, Munadi and Roesli Hakim from July 3rd – 29th. The subject of the four artists’ paintings is the Balinese landscape which is captured by each in very different ways – not only the much represented rural landscape, but depictions of city scenes too, notably by Wiwoho who is from Denpasar. Pendergrast’s collection includes some works produced during a recent trip to Australia. Munadi’s pastoral paintings, rendered in rich oils, have been inspired by his life in Gianyar while Hakim’s works are lyrical renditions of day to day life in Bali’s countryside and villages. Pranoto hope to breathe new life into the Landscape genre with this exhibition as well as reminding us of just how precious the Balinese landscape is.
