::JetSki

Clayton Jacobsen is motocross enthusiast and the person wholly responsible for the development of the jetski; originally it was called a or Personal Water Craft (PWC) back in the 70’s and it had a heavy, clunky body. Still, suddenly people were able to ”run on water”. The move to commercial use was triggered by Kawasaki who was the first company to use the name “Jetski”. As a pioneer in the market back then, they didn’t provide much bling-bling, but they had produced the very first stand up model with a 400cc engine and handlebar steering allowing a person to cruise the waves without being towed. The eighties was a period of intense development, with double seater models appearing to create a more comfortable, safe and stable ride. The technology took a leap in the mid 90’s with a new approach to hull design, cockpit, engine and exhaust system, making the jetski ever more exciting. The watersport’s popularity has skyrocketed since then with “Sea Doo” and a sit down watercraft producer “Bombardier Inc” becoming the world’s largest manufacturers.. The new millennium provided a 3 person jetski which can reach speeds of 60mph, jetski racing is starting to hit the headlines of sports pages and it’s starting to be used by lifeguards as well as for ‘Towing In’ crazy surfers onto big waves. Bali is a perfect place to experience jetskiing, with operations in Sanur, Tanjung-Nusa Dua. Sanur area provide couple of operator and rider-friendly environment with their white sand bottom beach and lots of speeding track but watch out for the “jukung” (traditional fishing boat) while Tanjung-Nusa Dua is the huge playground for the jetski maniac, tons of watersport operator with deep water for your fun on those watercraft, speeding and sneaking next to the freighter for sure will be thrilling experience.
