The 4th Anniversary of Mall Bali Galleria on Saturday, June 11, was a day to remember. The madness was scheduled to begin at 11 am, but due to typical island-style “jam karet” (flexible timing), things didn’t actually kick off until 12:30. At that point, shoppers wasted no time in taking advantage of the event’s highlight, The Distro Bazaar, where independent/underground t-shirt labels (mostly owned and operated by university students) hocked their indie wares and designs. Eventually, festivities reached EX-treme levels as head-spinnin’, pop-lockin,’ breakers competed and high-flying BMX daredevils took control of the street-style park and raised the roof with their maneuvers. These events were only surpassed by the closing live performances that featured the hot-rod punk stylings of Devildice and The Dissland’s Ramones-esque guitar onslaught. Four years at Mall Bali Galleria celebrated with a bang. //gino-G++
