Gromsearch
@ Bingin

Like a trip to the land before time, you park your vehicle and enjoy the walk under a canopy of trees followed by some neck-breaking dodgy coral step for 10 minutes. Not your average stroll down Dhyana Pura, but when you get there it’s like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.. Bingin (Balinese word for “Beringin” or Banyan Tree”) is famous for its pearly left hand wave that can peel off for 25m or so - there’s your gold, see! Anyway, typical of any equatorial surf contest, the waters filled with a bunch of kamikaze groms, all 16 and under, floating in the line up like so much flotsam washed down the rivers in the rainy season. There’s also a sound system with speakers in every corner. At 2pm, the high tide forced the groms to be careful or else some evil-ass coral at the paddling point was gonna tear them up. Some lucky groms were cruising on 4ft waves happily inside the “green cathedral” . No guts no glory, that’s the word for Mustofa Jeksen who made the top of the podium for this second series of Rip Curl grom search. Watch out for the 3rd round at Halfway. //gino++
Result:

1st : Mustofa Jeksen
