Ari : Honestly I prefer local productions by the likes of Oscar Lawalata and Aliki coz they are so stylish.
Beat : And what do you think of BFW itself?
Ari : It’s made progress compared with the 1st which only focused on local designers – now we get designers from abroad.
Beat : What’s hot in 2005?
Ari : Smooth, cool colors like green…more like Hawaiian style I guess and sort of minimal.

Ali : Great, for everyone involved in the business of fashion. It gets a lot of media and is good promotion.
Beat : And what are the new trends coming out of Indonesia?
Ali : I call it “New Life, New Spirit” like a mixture between eastern and western
culture, light with vibrant colors and ethnic accessories.
Beat : And who’s your design influence?
Ali : Tom Ford and Vivian Westwood
