Openings

Many restaurants have been opening in the last few weeks. A new sports bar called Metro has taken over the old Taj Mahal site in Oberoi, Atmosphere and Bali Colada are officially open in the Discovery Mall in Kuta and Sector in the Bali Beach Golf Course in Sanur. The closer we get to the summer season the more new places we’ll see offering increased dining options. This is all good for Bali.

New Tapas making a hit.

Kudeta’s Tapas menu has been making a hit amongst foodies in town recently. We were down there the other Sunday night and knocked off a couple of the good bottles of Chilean while munching on Tapas or Grazas as they call them at KDT. Excellent stuff and we must say Ku De Ta has really gone up a notch since adding this fun style of eating to the menu. You can read more about it in this edition of FRV; we’ve got a full Tapas article with history and where it’s at right now, complete with photos from the new KDT Grazin’ Menu. [Sorry, couldn’t resist that! ED]

New Menu at Drops

Drops restaurant on Jalan Padma have released a new lunch menu which should be highly appreciated down in Legian. With highlights like Grilled Buttifarras Sausage [32], Salsa di Tuna [32], Chicken Piccatta [40] and Breaded Fish Foccacia [30] Drops should be worth visiting come midday for a quick bite or business lunch.

Moon Tapas

We couldn’t mention Tapas without including The Venue at The Moon’s new Tapas Menu, too. Actually, everything’s new at the Moon! It’s only been open a very short time and that’s why I wanted to share this secret with you. The food is great, no really, I am not kidding, the food is very good and great value. Aussie chef, Darren is cooking up a storm and last Saturday night we dropped in and the place was surprisingly, after being open so briefly, packed. We were lucky to get a table. And why? The food was fantastic.
