:: Hooked Up with Ello & Pinkan Mambo
@ kamasutra

The show kicked off with Pinkan Mambo performing for about an hour, before she was joined for a second set with Ello and his band. Pinkan opened her performance with Beyonce’s “Baby Boy” and continued with several top 40 hits such as ‘This Love’ by Maroon Five, ‘Where is The Love’ by Black Eyed Peas, and her own hit ‘ Cinta Takkan Usai’ (Love will Never End). Although she jumped around precariously in her stilettos and threw some pretty impressive Britney moves, vocally she disappointed, missing some parts of songs and singing out of tune at times.

Luckily the backing vocals saved here. On the other hand, Rising star Ello gave an amazing performance! He was easily able to woo the crowd despite his lack of experience. He was aided in this by a very tight band who backed him up with some solid grooves. Ello impressed even more when he showed he can play some guitar and piano too. He reminded me a little of Jamiroquai in his style though musically he’s closer to Glen Fredly. ‘Pergi untuk kembali’ , his first radio hit closed the performance, a song written by his father Minggus Tahitoe. Keep your eyes on this guy, he could be big...//rifi++
