Tennis is fun to play, easily accessible and can be a great way of working out within your fitness regime. The game is exciting and the competitive spirit can be intense amongst regular players of which there are many around the island. Some play as many as three times a week while others once a month, but all enjoy the chance to escape the rigors of work and everyday life on the tennis court. There are local competitions during the year including The Rotary Club’s Amateur Charity Tournament at the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel held in May and others but the big international event of the year is The Wismilak International Bali in September.
Tennis is one of the most readily available sports that locals and visitors can find in Bali. Most the 5 Star hotels on the island have world-class standard tennis courts at reasonable prices available to visitors where the tools of the game can be hired at an hourly rate. Coaching is also available at some of these facilities. Rackets and balls can be bought in a few sport shops around town, mainly in the Malls and Shopping Centers like Bali Mall Galeria, Discovery or the bigger Matahari and Gramedia stores.
