:: Diesel
Charges Centerstage

More..! One more…! Such was the cry as Diesel’s show was about to end at Centerstage last Wednesday night. The crowd couldn’t get enough of this lank, kinda cool figure, quietly commanding the stage, guitar in hand. Diesel’s show that night was outstanding, with great vocals and a fantastic rhythmic guitar style that created a charged atmosphere for the entire hour he played. This is the second time Diesel’s appeared at Centerstage; he was here in 2001, though it was an even better performance last week than on that first occasion; he seems to have matured and looks more comfortable in his solo attack than four years ago.

Diesel’s performance not only attracted a good turn out of Aussies but a diverse crowd of ex pats, tourists and locals. Billed as Australia’s best male artist (as voted by ARIA in the early 90s) he proved that after 15 years he’s still got it..playing a purely acoustic set, he produced one of those classic Centerstage performances that had the audience transfixed. //rifi ++

Diesel’s improving with age ......... IN the true gritty style of a seasoned campainer he gave a concert that impressed and held everyone on side throughout...Not an easy task being solo up on the main stage....
