Kama Sutra was full with bar enthusiasts from all over the country to support The Indonesian Bartender Competition 2005. After two days of competing against 100 fellow competitors from all over the country, came to the final 12 of the best bartenders competing for the best national bartender title along with 8 million Rupiah and a chance to witness an international bartending competition in Malaysia.

Among 12 finalists, there were 3 bartenders from Bali who competed with 8 finalists from Jakarta and 1 from Lombok. Colorful cocktails in tropical theme flies from the stage to the jury table to be tasted with fun names like Beach D’Amore, Banjar Jegek, and Green Magic. Contestants who have only 5 minutes timeline fight hard for the title.

Judging from the taste, originality, performance of the bartender, time and costume, finalists’ juggle, pour, throw and kick their bottles all over the place to impress the judges and crowd. Finally, a proud Balinese bartender of Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, I Gusti Agung Gede Udiana won the title. With a very creative performance amongst gamelan music, Agung’s winning cocktail called Passion 80 Proof had surely won the judges hearts. Congratulations and keep those delicious cocktail coming! /MK
