Krisdayanti’s
BerCahaya Tour is the diva’s very first album tour
after many years of her singing carrier. Bali is the fifth
stop after successfully out and about in big cities of
Indonesia. The tour starts from Semarang in July 18, followed
by Surabaya, Jogjakarta, Solo, and now, Bali. It will
end up in Bandung in August 3.
During the press conference held at Harris Hotel Kuta,
Krisdayanti (KD), appeared with her full team including
music director Erwien Gutawa, (musician, composer and
arranger extraordinaire) who brought 10 musicians to support
KD’s tour. This tour was also held to celebrate
Cek & Ricek’s 7th birthday (Cek & Ricek
is a known celebrity show on TV). After the press conference,
KD gave some time for her fans trough a fun meet and greet,
and competitions such as “Singing Like KD”
and “Dress Up Like KD”, aiming mostly towards
her female (and half ‘female’) fans; the majority
of her fans.
Hard Rock Café Bali was glistening with lights
in that very night. The fee of Rp. 100.000,- at the door
didn’t stop KD’s fans to come from all over
Bali to see their diva performing. Struggling towards
the sea of fans that comes from every range of age and
nationality, I finally manage to get a spot almost in
front of the stage.
The show starts on time, at exactly 09.00 PM. For this
special occasion, Hard Rock’s stage, which was decorated
with two giant close up pictures of KD, was equipped with
some extra sound system and lighting. Hysteria quickly
strikes as KD appears on stage with a stunning new short
hairstyle (There has been a report of an angry transvestite
fan that refuses to see KD because of her new hairstyle).
Wearing a colorful corset and a sexy pant that match it,
she quickly opens her concert with an upbeat song titled
“Senandung” (Humming). The power of her voice
reaches across the venue, while Erwin Gutawa becomes the
soul of the music behind his keyboard. Also powered with
two female back up singers and a full band (2 keyboards,
1 guitar, 1 bass, 1 violin, 1 drum and 1 percussion),
she continues the concert with “Cinta” (Love),
moving energetically with her four dancers.
After, she starts to have a chat with her fans in a charisma
of a diva. She talks to the children in front of the stage.
She talks about the tour and she talks about her husband,
singer musician Anang, who has followed her tour, and
stands by her side for 20 days. Enough talking, she continues
the show with the song “Merasa” (To Sense)
and “Kalau Sendiri” (If Being Alone), followed
by a ballad called “Ku Tak Sanggup” (I Can’t
Take It).
But then, disaster occurs. Halfway trough this ballad,
the sound system starts to go off and on, and off again,
on again, and finally, off it goes. She had tried to keep
the show going by talking with the crowd for quite a while,
but eventually, at exactly 21.26 PM, all the crew went
off stage. For a good 30 minutes, the crowd was patiently
waiting for the sound system to be fixed. KD appears again
to re-sang the previous song “Ku Tak Sanggup”,
followed by another powerful ballad called “Menghitung
Hari” (Counting Days), which was brought with a
lovely sound of acoustic guitar and violin. But even then,
the sound system was still crashing on and off, with KD’s
fans supporting her by singing out loudly while her mike
was off. By the end of this song, again, for the second
time, the sound system crashed.
It’s for a good 45 minutes this time. KD’s
fans were waiting patiently for the sound system to be
sorted while watching music videos on the big screen.
Nobody goes, nobody complains too much which is amazing
to witness, and the management of the tour held a press
conference soon after the concert to give some explanations.
In this occasion, they apologize to all KD fans, and thank
Hard Rock Café for their help and support. Apparently,
it was a problem caused by the supplier’s generator
set and to fix it, they have to use the lighting’s
power to cover sound system. HRC later supports the lighting.
Words from backstage; the diva was the one who cheered
the crew to be patient about what had happened, without
loosing her spirit to complete the show.
The show finally continues again with “Keinginanmu”
(What You Wish For) and a romantic ballad called “Cobalah
Untuk Setia” (Please Try To Be Faithful). KD, who
changes into a gorgeous mini blue dress, thank all her
patient fans for their support and called for her husband
Anang to go onstage to sing with her. The duet of “Makin
Aku Cinta” (I Am More In Love) and “Cintailah
Diriku Untuk Selamanya” (Love Me Forever) made couples,
the majority of the crowd, snuggling even more comfortably.
Disappearing for 10 minutes, She came onstage again to
finish up the last round of the concert. “Cahaya”
(Lights), “Mahadaya Cinta” (The Power of Love),
her newest hit “Pilihlah Aku” (Please Select
Me) and Rembulan (The Moon) was being sang perfectly by
KD who already change her outfit into a glamorous white
mini dress with a matching high boots. Suddenly, the spotlight
dims into a mild color of blue, pink and yellow. The diva
bow her head deeply to fall into her own world, and the
final song is sang. “Mencintaimu” (Loving
You) is, her most powerful ballad ever. I can feel the
hair on my back neck standing up when KD starts the song
in an intense way, singing slowly “Mencintaimu…
seumur hidupku.. selamanya.. seumur hidupku..” Ouch.
Yes it was a disaster when the sound system went off.
But all in all, the show went on beautifully after everything’s
sorted, and the most important thing; everybody stays,
enjoying the show until the end. I guess not even a troubled
genset can erase the KD’s spirit to give her best.
Thank you KD and hurry back! /MK
