Erwin Gutawa is the man behind the scene. His spectacular
work as musician, composer, arranger, orchestrator, conductor
and producer has been known for many years now. He is
simply one of the most respected Indonesian artists.
After successfully kicking ass with two tribute albums
last year to male singing legend Chrisye and rock guitarist
Ian Antono, this year Erwin Gutawa produced yet another
astonishing tribute album released by Sony Music Indonesia.
The tribute album was dedicated to Indonesia’s very
own 70’s legend The Koes Plus brothers. The project
was inspired by Erwin Gutawa’s admiration for Koes
Plus’s long history, who gave birth to rock n’
roll music scene back in the 70’s when the flower
generation was just blooming here in Indonesia. Koes Plus
brothers had produced so many hit songs for so many years.
The album features all the hits of Koes Plus, remade and
reloaded with orchestra sounds, Erwin’s specialty
and ideal. As many as 177 back up musicians, 7 sound engineers
and 17 of Sony Music’s top singers such as Ruth
Sahanaya, The Groove, Sheila On 7, Glenn Fredly and Indra
Lesmana brought Koes Plus’s songs back to life..
Check out the orchestra versions of Koes Plus in songs
like “Bilakah kau Pulang” featuring Audy,
“Kisah Sedih di Hari Minggu” featuring acapella
choir Impromptu, Manis dan Sayang features Eet Sharani,
Edi Kemput with vocal by Andy Rif, Andaikan Kau Datang
featuring Ruth Sahanaya and many more. This album also
features The Australian Concert Orchestra. So indulge

Album to Koes Plus by Erwin Gutawa.
FLY
WITH TEN2FIVE
Everybody’s talking about Ten2Five, whispering and
gossiping about it with great enthusiasm. I didn’t
know what it was all about, but it turned out to be simple.
Ten to Five is a new band. It all started in Perth –
Australia in 1998 where two Indo boys, Robin and Poltak,
met and share their passion of jazz by doing guitar jams,
creating new sound together. Later on they met fellow
Indo musicians Arief and Lea and a band is born. Back
to Indonesia, they need a new singer since Lea is gone
back down under. In August 2001, the foursome hooked up
with a secretary with a voice of gold, named Imel. Her
beautiful R’nB voice blend with their easy listening
jazz music so well, and with the additional of Imel’s
brother Didit, Ten2Five is born. Ten2Five’s unique
debut album entitled “I Will Fly” was released
under EMI Music Indonesia, featuring 5 songs in English
and 5 songs in Bahasa. Their music is calming, soft, cozy
and easy to connect with. Check out Imel’s beautiful
voice and Robin’s acoustic guitar on their first
single “I Will Fly”, which will surely send
you to t 7th heaven, or a duet between Imel and Adit in
the song “I Do”. This album, I Will Fly from
Ten2Five is a must have.
