At last Kuta?s getting back
to normal with most of the road works in the central area
getting close to finished. They still have a way to go
but at least most of the earthmoving part of it is over
and traffic movement is starting to flow again. Some areas
like Tuban are still in the throes of devastation but
soon it will be over too. Let?s hope that the powers that
be don?t decide to begin digging it up again with the
next sewerage project that is said to be starting soon.
We don?t think the businesses could survive another bout
of it. Speaking of businesses, Dhyana Pura in Seminyak
has been having its problems lately too.
It?s a bit late now to talk about moving it, isn?t it?
How much would it cost? Some constructive town planning
wouldn?t go amiss to right the problems down there and
other areas too but Dhyana Pura is now a fixed site on
the Tourist Map in Bali and we wouldn?t want to see it
change. Now, soundproofing etc should be done by the bars
ASAP.
We?re hoping it all works out quickly and a bit of positive
communication by all parties would go a long way in helping.
Last week we didn?t see a lot going on around town. The
Xpress2 show at KUDOS was about the biggest thing going
[page48]. Next week we have the Double Six Grand Opening
Extravaganza on the way and should be huge. Read about
that and everything that?s on in the next two weeks in
the What?s Going On section in the pages ahead. Rock On
Bali, it?s getting busy so let?s enjoy in. ED |
