I t’s
about variety. It’s a voyeuristic thing. It’s
a slather feel. And a slide. Brush. Sweep. Glob. It’s
a fantasy thing—lived out in front of a collection
of beautiful people dining on excellent cuisine.
The results are then hung on the wall for the late-comers
to taste with their eyes. Have you seen the new paintings
on the walls in Rumours? Sensuality of feminism, the sly
faced looker, and in between is the funk fantasy trip
twist.
These are the feels I get from them. Likely you will
get very different ones. They are the first results of
Rumours’ new experimental concept to involve regular
patrons in the atmosphere of the restaurant.
The first group of artists consisted of Marina from Indonesia,
Chris from Australia, and Matt from England. They were
invited at 6:30 pm on Sunday to put their ideas onto three
white canvases, set up in the corner of the restaurant.
It is an extremely creative effort to integrate customers
into the environment, and will become a regular event
if the feedback seems positive. Marina loves the idea,
as it gave “me a chance to express myself.”
And that was the whole idea. So who says there are no
benefits to being a regular? You could be the next artist
on the walls. |
