Tere & Kaimsasikun

Tere sang on Wednesday night to a moderately crowded Hard Rock Café. She’s from Jakarta and has had a couple of hits but while looking good and having a funky style her voice didn’t have a lot of strength.

The slow crooning songs she had down pretty well but fell short on the rockers. The handphone wielding young guys at the front of the stage lapped it up, though. Meanwhile, Kaimsasikun, a local bunch of rockers opened the show and did a very good job. They are heavily influenced by Muse and Radiohead and a bit commercial in a Smashing Pumpkins kind of sense but put on an impressive, energetic set which, with time and more outings, will undoubtedly get better.

We’ll probably see them around again. SS
