It was a very wet and ordinary
few days last week. It seemed that the sun was never going
to shine again and cold! Geez, it was cold…. The
Bali Fashion Week opened on the Thursday night and it
didn’t stop raining from then till just before the
Beat Rock Fest on Sunday. Actually, it started again during
the Fest and just poured thru the whole event which, as
you can imagine, got the place really rocking. [Page 50]
I’m sure the BFW organizers were wondering what
they did to deserve the fate of being rained on for the
entire three days of the show but it would’ve been
total chaos if they had had it in the open like last October
at the Intercontinental. They should be counting their
blessings. [Page 28-33]
Meanwhile, strange things were passing in the Dhyana Pura
area too. Closed off to traffic for a couple of nights
and most bars shut tight after a combination of disturbances
on the street and sound-proofing issues coming to a head
once more it too was open and back to business by the
time the rain stopped again.
Did you notice how beautiful the Monday afternoon was
after the skies cleared? It seemed that things had changed
for the better; it was a new start and our world had been
cleaned and refreshed again. All the rubbish had been
washed away. I went looking for a park to go for a walk
in, on such a beautiful afternoon, but alas, for a moment
I had forgotten where I was…
This weekend watch out for two big events on the same
Saturday night. Double Six re-opens with a couple of special
guest international DJs and Hard Rock Café gets
into the dance music again with one of the founders of
the genre, Derrick May. Big night out for one and all.
