Beat Rock Fest at Hard Rock Café

The Beat Rock Fest came and went almost without a whisper but openers Navicula still came on stage and blew us and almost the Hard Rock Café soundsystem away.

This was Style Rock on a par with Stone Temple Pilots: angsty, angry poetic and featuring a djembe drum at one point.
The low numbers were down to a rained out weekend.

While the tight little rock posse and some pristine Hell’s Angels bounced around gamely, a deluge was unleashing itself outside. Postmen came on after Navicula and gave a typically energetic performance, well received as usual, especially by the Hell’s Angels. Superman Is Dead wrapped things up, performing off the back off a huge concert in Denpasar, this was one for the family and the boys played a nice tight set for us all.

The Fest will be back on next month with new bands and big sponsors etc to get the show movin’ up a notch. Also rockers, watch out for the Bikey Rock Concert at GWK in June. Loads of local and international bands on the way.
